Christ that month flew!!!! I know we are a week into October already but I just wanted to show you a few of the products that I have been using non stop for the past month or so. If you follow me on Snapchat (I'm @makeupbyrubysue...come say hi!) then you will have pretty much seen me use this foundation everyday over the past month. It's the new reformulated Rimmel Match Perfection. Being a lover of the old formula I was weary that they may have f**ked it up but no!!! they (as in Rimmel) have actually made it better. The colour is an exact match for my skin-tone (I use shade 100 Ivory), one pump is plenty to even out my complexion and hide any redness around my nose and it wears brilliantly with little or no breakdown throughout the day. I do have to add a little powder to my T-zone to help it stay put and beat the shine but that's the same with all my foundations. This is a fantastic budget foundation and one that I will be definitely be repurchasing. Available in pharmacies nationwide for about a tenner. This is a sample size of the Clinique High Impact mascara which I found when I was cleaning out my spare room. And boy am I happy that I did!!!! It's the perfect all rounder mascara adding length and volume without clumping or flaking. The brush is a lovely size making it easy to evenly coat each lash including your bottom ones. It's easy to apply and easy to remove. I will defo be buying a full size one. Available in Clinique stockists nationwide for €22.50. Once summer is over I seem to start neglecting my poor auld skin but after discovering these two I will hopefully remain as soft as a baby's bottom for the winter. First up is the TanOrganic Tan Erase exfoliating glove. I picked this up completely by chance in Care Pharmacy, Salthill....it was reduced from €14.99 to €4.99 so I though BARGAIN!!!! I have been using this more as a general exfoliator rather than a tan eraser on dry skin about 3 times a week by gently buffing all over my body. You can see all the yucky white powder (all the dead skin cells) on the glove after use which is pretty gross but at least you know it's working. Then the Johnson's Bedtime Baby Oil was another random purchase from my local supermarket. I loved the smell of it and at only €3.50 sure why not. I literally lather this all over before putting on my PJ's and jumping into bed. The combination of the glove and this has my skin feeling amazing. And maybe it's just a coincidence but I actually think I sleep better when I have the baby oil on!!!!
Another old favourite this month is the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in Pink Bronze. I had dug this out during the summer but never got back into using it properly until the past few weeks. It is a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown Pink Quartz Shimmer Brick which costs about €40 - you can pick this up in Boots for only €7. I use a large fluffy brush and lightly dust this over my cheek bones and across the top of my forehead. It leaves my skin look glowy and healthy without being too shimmery - Sure what else would you want! And that's it...
I am currently using a new blush, concealer and lippy so lets see will they make it into next months favourites. Until next time...As always....Be Happy! Susie xxx

So this is basically a quick review of a few skincare & beauty products I have finished over the past few months. I know there isn't a huge amount of makeup but that's because I am continuously buying new products and actually very rarely finish any of them!!!!! Eye Makeup Removers: - I LOVE smokey eyes and lashings of mascara so a good eye makeup remover is essential for me. I think the biphase formulas are much more efficient at removing stubborn liner/mascara so that's what I tend to stick to. So in no particular order these are the ones I have been using over the past couple of months: Garnier Express 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover (125ml €4.50 approx, available in pharmacies nationwide) - Fantastic, does the job brilliantly without leaving any greasy residue. Have repurchased this a number of times. Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover All Bright (150ml €5.99 approx, available in Boots) - Another great one. Lifts mascara and liner away easily. Can be slightly oily but because I remove my eye makeup first this isn't a problem. I just bought a new bottle of this but have been reading that they changed the formula so I'm hoping it works aswell as my last one did. Elemis White Flowers Eye & Lip Makeup Remover (125ml €28.80 approx, available on www.feelunique.com.). I actually only had a travel size of this but it was perfect to bring on holidays with me. I try and use waterproof/sweat-proof/heatproof products on holidays to prevent my makeup melting off but they are always harder to remove. However this little bottle made quick work of everything leaving me with no panda eyes in the morning. This is a great one for your skincare routine if you have the budget for it. Vichy Pureté Thermale Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover (150mls €14.99 approx, available in pharmacies nationwide). Another great all rounder. Works on waterproof mascara and doesn't irritate my eyes. That's eye makeup removers sorted so it's on to skin cleansers now. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (125ml €29 available in Clinique stockists nationwide). I LOVE this stuff...You just scoop out a small amount warm it between your hands where it changes to an oil and apply all over the face. It melts off all your makeup even mascara. Well worth the price tag and definitely a repurchase for me. Bioderma Micelle Solution (250ml €14.50 approx, available in selected pharmacies nationwide). I can't fault this...it is great at cleansing and removing makeup. But to be honest the Garnier Miceller Water does the exact same job at a fraction of the cost. L'Oreal Skin Perfect 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil (150ml €10.50 approx, available in pharmacies nationwide). Another great makeup remover. Two pumps, apply all over the face including lips & lashes and then remove with a damp facecloth. Ta Dah! All signs of makeup are gone. It does contain mineral oil though but to be honest it's not on your skin long enough to cause much damage. Will be repurchasing!!! Next up is Serums: I would highly recommend using a serum...I actually think they are more important than moisturiser. I use a serum to treat my skin problems (in my case dehydration/aging) day & night and don't mind investing a little money in a good quality one. Vichy Idéalia Life Serum (30mls €34.99 approx, available in pharmacies nationwide). This is a nice enough product but to be honest I didn't notice a difference in my complexion after using it. It makes an excellent base for makeup though and feels lovely and moisturising on the skin. I much prefer the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum which is a Holy Grail product for me. Clarins Double Serum (30ml €69.50 approx, available in Clarins stockist nationwide). This was the first serum I ever used and I loved it however I never actually got around to repurchasing it. My skin looked more even and had a lovely glow to it. I think it's just because I am a product junkie that I never got around to buying a second bottle but it is definitely on my list. Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner (225g €19.95 available in Lush Dublin). I LOVE this stuff and have already repurchased a new pot. You simply use this like you would use your hair conditioner. Apply to wet skin whilst you are still in shower then rinse off. Once you get out of the shower just pat your skin dry and Ta Dah! you have beautiful soft skin. And it smells AMAZING!!!!. I have a full review of it so just click here (http://makeupbyrubysue.weebly.com/blog/lush-after-lush-ros-argan-body-conditioner). My favourite makeup product would have to be mascara so this is actually one product I do get to finish.
L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (€11.50 approx available in pharmacies nationwide). This is a fantastic mascara perfect for adding volume without clumping. It is a staple in my personal and professional kit. Lancome Virtuóse Mascara (€27.50 approx, available at Lancome stockist nationwide). I firmly believe that Lancome make the best high end mascaras and always have at least one on the go. This is my all time favourite as it adds volume and a great curl to the last. Definitely will be repurchasing. So that's it...I can finally throw these all in the bin!!!!. Thanks for reading. Until next time....Be Happy!!!! Susie xxx Obviously as the season's change so should your makeup. So here is a few of my favorite things for summer. For lips I love bright colours. I have two favourite go to products. Firstly is the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons. I love these glossy pencils as they glide on really smoothly and are incredibly pigmented. My two favourite shades are Fuchsia Libre which is a bright pink and Peach on the Beach which is a beautiful pinky/peach that is just perfect for summer. They have SPF 15 and have a beautiful glossy lightweight finish. They are availble in six shades from pharmacies nationwide and cost €9.49 My other favourite lippy product for summer is Revlon Lip Butter. They look like a lipstick but feel like a balm and contain mango, Shea and Coconut butter - all the good stuff for hydrating your lips. On the lip they feel light and moisturising and are available in a huge amount of shades. I have three favourites. Macaroon is a neutral mid dark pink shade that would suit every skin tone. Peach Parfait is a beautiful peach shade with a little glitter. And Strawberry Shortcake is a cotton candy pink. It just screams sunshine. They are available nationwide and retail approx €10 I have mentioned this blush before in a previous blog but I had forgot all about it until I done a recent clean out. This is a lovely Rose Gold blush. It has a very light shimmer going through it and gives you a beautiful pinky/bronze finish. Beautiful!!! I have two go to foundations for summer. My old reliable is Bourjois Happy Light Foundation. Again I have blogged about this before. It just leaves you with beautiful dewy skin. MAC Face & Body is a cult product with a lot of makeup artists. However I could never get used to it as it is quite a watery product which made it difficult to work with and I always found it to be very light coverage. But after trying it again recently I have fallen in love with it. As the name suggests you can use it all over the face & body as it is waterproof and has great staying power. You need to buff it well into the skin and you can build up the coverage from sheer to medium. It feels lightweight on the skin and leaves you with a beautiful dewy finish. It is perfect for normal to dry skin. I have had the original Urban Decay Naked palette in my kit for over a year now and it still remains one of my favourite shadow palettes. This contains a brilliant selection of warm neutrals that will bring you from day wear right through to night. The two matte shades Buck & Naked are perfect for blending into your crease, Virgin is a beautiful highlight shade and they rest of the colours can be mixed to use in what ever way you want. I think it is approx €42 and I promise if you buy any one of the 3 different Naked palettes you won't be disappointed. Clinique Chubby Stick Tint for eyes is another rediscovery for me. I bought this ages ago but never got around to using it. I have the shade Pink & Plenty which is a beautiful rose gold shade and can but used on its own for a soft wash of colour over the eye or as a base for powder eyeshadows. This is new to me also. I have always just filled in my brows with a matte brown shadow but this is a handy product to have when you're in a hurry. Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara is available in 3 shades Blonde, Medium Brown & Dark Brown. They all look natural and add great definition to your brows. It is available nationwide for €7.49 This is an old favourite but I still love it. L'Oreal mascaras are great and this has a beautiful curved brush with gives great curl and volume to your lashes. I love this new product from Rimmel. I have tried the light shade and loved it so was dying to try the medium colour. This instant tan promises to smooth, soften, moisturise, even skin tone, create a healthy glow, cover, perfect and last up to 24 hours. It is kind of like apply foundation to your legs and leaves a flattering velvet finish with a slight glow on the skin. It also makes the skin look lovely and even. And that's it....my staples for summer.
Hope you enjoyed the read Until next time...Be Happy!!! Susie xxx Morning SkincareI am NOT a morning person and I could hit snooze 10 times before actually getting up. So it generally doesn't leave me with a lot of time to get ready before heading out the door to work. Therefore my morning skincare routine is quick and simple. I start my morning by cleansing with Garnier's Micellar Water. It removes any oils that might appear during the night, doesn't leave any residue and makes my skin feel clean and soft after use. I then apply my Botanics Hydrating Radiant Youth Eye Cream. I have been using this for about a month now and its a lovely simple moisturising cream that keeps the eye area well hydrated. It is a great cream for anyone looking for a basic everyday cream. I have however just invested in the NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Cream. It promises to "target tell-tale signs of ageing around the eyes by building and plumping the deep layers of the skin and crow's feet and puffiness are effectively targeted for exceptional results". I will do a full review on once I have had a chance to try it out. I have been using the No.7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum of late. I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. I had been using the Clarin's Double Serum and noticed my skin tone & texture had improved but since changing to the No. 7 serum I haven't noticed any difference. I am going to finish it anyway and will let you know what I think at the end. I then finish with Una Brennan Super Facialist Neroli Firming Day Cream. I absolutely love the smell of this product and it leaves my skin super soft. The Una Brennan Super Facialist range is great and cannot wait to try more of their products. Night SkincareI always try to double cleanse at night to really ensure my skin is cleansed of the days makeup dirt and pollution. I start with the Garnier Micellar Water as this takes off most of my makeup and eye makeup. I then use the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm. This is a lovely product. It is solid but liquefies when warmed between your hands. Apply all over the face and it melts off the day's dirt and any stubborn makeup. I use a warm muslin cloth to remove it and my skin always feels clean and fresh afterwards. I use my Botanics eye cream and No.7 Serum again and then use the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5. It is very rich and quite greasy but I love it. It soothes, protects and repairs whilst I sleep. Little tube of magic! Weekly TreatmentsOnce a week I use the Una Brennan Super Facialist Tea Flower Pore Purifying Clay Mask. It comes out white in colour, smells quite herbally (is that a word) and dries quickly. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then simply wash it off with a hot facecloth to reveal smooth well balanced skin. It doesn't dry out my face and leaves it feeling super clean. Then once a week I use the Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque. (Obviously not on the same night as the Clay Mask - I usually use this over the weekend or Monday night). This stuff is a life saver the morning after a night out, when you have had at least one bottle (of wine!!!) too many. It is super re-hydrating, packed full of vitamins and smells amazing. Simply apply a layer all over your face (I even apply it to the eye area) leave for at least 20 mins ( you can leave it on as long as you want) and then rinse off. You will be amazed by how radiant and refreshed your skin will look. About twice a week I use my Nip + Fab Glycolic Scrub Facial Polish or my Olay Regenerist 3 Point Super Cleanser Brush for a good exfoliation. The Glycolic Scrub contains both glycolic and salicylic acid which chemically exfoliate the skin and has fine granules to phsically exfoliate. It really improves the texture of my skin and leaves it bright and smooth. I use the Olay Cleansing Brush with whatever cleanser I happen to have in my bathroom at the time . My skin always feels soft and glowing afterwards like I have just had a facial. Oh and I always remove my makeup before using this brush otherwise it can stain the bristles. So that's basically it. Now my skin is still far from flawless but it has been looking better lately and I am putting it down to most of these products. Is there any product's you think I should try? Let me know in the comments below. Don't forget...Be Happy!
Susie xxx It's all very well buying the newest shade of lipstick and keeping up to date with all the latest trends but if you don't know how to do the basics then you're just wasting your time and money. I am a firm believer that every makeup look should start with a flawless base. And one of the most important tools in your makeup kit will be a great concealer. Now I know there are 100's no sorry 1000's of concealers on the market from under eye highlighters to full coverage concealers and it can all get VERY confusing. But hopefully I'm going to answer some of your questions and help you find the right concealer and tell you how to apply it. Depending on how much coverage you need, concealer can be applied before or after your foundation. A general rule of thumb is: For less coverage, apply concealer before foundation; for more coverage, apply concealer on top of foundation. Under Eye ConcealingThis is the most common area to conceal and the first thing I need to say is NO MATTER what you do or WHAT PRODUCT YOU USE your concealer will more than likely crease. However here are a few tips you should follow to minimise creasing and help your concealer to last longer.
How to Apply:
Products I Love for Under Eye Concealing:
BlemishesThe difference between undereye concealers and blemish concealers is simply the texture: concealers that work best on blemishes have a thicker, creamier texture. Here are a few tips on covering blemishes:

RednessIt’s very common to have redness or small broken veins around your nose. This is also generally a much oiler area of your face, so it requires a concealer method that’s simple but a little bit different than the rest of your face.

So thats it. I hope I have answered most of your questions.
Please let me know in the comments below if you have any further queries or what you would like me to blog about next. Thanks for reading. Until next time - Be Happy! Susie XXX Here is a round up of my beauty and makeup favourites from 2013. I tried to keep it to my very favourite products buts its sooo hard to choose!!! I have it broke down into categories to make it a little easier to read...So grab yourselves a cup of tea or a glass of wine and enjoy!!! SkincareClarins Double Serum 30ml (€69.50). I got this at the end of November (because of the start of a massive crater creeping across my forehead) but haven't done a full review on it yet as I like to use a product for a least a month before giving it a full & frank review. It's 27 years in the making and claims to activate the skin's 5 vital functions: nutrition, oxygenation, hydration, regeneration and protection. Basically a skin firming, pore minimizing, wrinkle reducing miracle in a bottle - oh and it evens skin texture also. This is where I have noticed the biggest improvement. My skin tone is alot more even and the GIANT WRINKLE I noticed on my forehead seems to have retracted back into what ever little hole it crawled out of (for now anyway)!!! I use it morning and evening, don't find it greasy and love the smell of it. At €69.50 it is expensive but I will definitely be repurchasing it. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (€28.00 for 125ml). I love this Balm. It just melts the makeup off your face. You only need a small tiny amount, massage it into your skin and use a warm face cloth to remove all the grime, oil and dirt from your face. Your skin will feel sooooo clean but without feeling tight or stripped. And honestly the pot will last you ages. I also love the Take the Day Off Eye Makeup Remover. Soap & Glory - Clean On Me Shower Gel, The Righteous Body Butter and Breakfast Scrub (€10-€14 & ususally available on 3for2 in Boots) I keep returning to these three products from the Soap & Glory Range for my shower routine. I just love the smell of the Clean on Me Shower Gel and the Righteous Body Butter whilst I just want to eat the Breakfast Scrub. It smells like maple syrup mmmhhhh yummy!!!. MakeupLaura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance 50ml (€36.00) This is a great product. I got it mainly to use for Bridal makeup but I have become addicted to it. Its beautifully moisturising which helps your foundation glide on and last all day without any dry patches showing through. And boy does it make your skin glow. Even with a full coverage foundation like the Estee Lauder Double Wear this stuff leaves your skin looking dewy. If you have oily skin you could just use it on your high points like your cheek bones, temples etc. Estee Lauder Double Wear 30ml (€36.50) This was a new discovery for me this year. Sometimes I love to use a really good full coverage foundation (you know when your skin is mis-behaving) and this ticks all the boxes. It gives full coverage but still looks natural, lasts all day without having to touch up, doesn't cause flash back in photos and basically is a great all rounder. You only need to use a tiny amount and I blend it in with a Real Techniques buffing brush. LOVE!!! Bourjois Happy Light Foundation 30mls (€16.99) I am a big fan of Bourjois Foundations and have used the Healthy Mix Foundation and the Healthy Mix Serum Foundation for years now. The Happy Light Foundation was launched in September it has been a staple in my makeup bag ever since. It has a beautiful velvety texture which blends into the skin for a luminous natural finish. Depending on how you apply it the coverage can vary from light to medium and if you lightly powder it will last about 8hrs. Basically this is a brilliant everyday makeup. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (€8.99) I am slightly addicted to concealer, I have ones for dark circles, spots, blemishes, highlighting and I buy everything from Bobbi Brown to Collection 2000. My biggest problem is dark undereyes so I am usually looking for a concealer/brightener. EVERY concealer I have tried to date has creased under the eye area and sits in my fine lines (Even the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer which is supposed to be one of the best). Anyhow in my never ending quest I decided to buy the Maybelline Fit Me concealer and low and behold its amazing. It blends like a dream, covers and brighten my dark circles and doesn't sit in my lines. Magic and all for only €8.99 Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (€5.99), Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer (€14) & Benefit Rockateur Blush (€34). If you have been an avid reader of my blogs then you will know I love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It's cheap, does exactly what it supposed to do and a brilliant all rounder. The Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer is a fairly new product to me but its just the perfect colour. Being pale and a red head, it can be very difficult to find a bronzer that doesn't look muddy or dirty. You get two shades, the lighter I use for dusting over my forehead, cheeks and nose for a sunkissed look and the darker shade for contouring. I use this on clients also and the texture and pigment are great and it blends so easily. And finally the newest offering from Benefit. The Rockateur Blush is just a gorgeous Rose Gold blush. It has a very light shimmer going through it and gives you a beautiful pinky/bronze finish. Beautiful!!! Revlon ColourBurst Lip Butter (€11) & Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick (€10). These are just two great products. The Revlon Lip Butters are a marriage between a lipstick and a lipbalm and its amazing. They contain hydrating mango, shea and coconut which keep the lip well moisturised throughout the day. They glide onto the lips and leave a sheer to medium buttery shine. Perfect for everyday wear or a laid back evening look as they feel light & creamy and comfortable to talk, eat and drink while wearing. The Soap and Glory Mother Pucker Gloss Pencils are another handy handbag staple. They have a luxurious feel to them and are more like a lipstick/gloss hybrid. They have a creamy formula that glides on and melts into the lips. I have alot of other "chubby stick" type gloss/balms but these feel like a treatment on the lip. Whilst more glossy and hydrating than their competition, they're completely free of any stickiness. And finally..... L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (€12.85) This is my new favourite mascara. This mascara makes my lashes so dramatic and full of volume. But they are defined, clump free, and so long looking! Seriously, the first time I put it on, I was shocked by how great my lashes looked! So that's it...I hope I haven't bored you all to tears...I will continue my hunt for new and exciting products and keep you all updated on my findings.
If you would like me to try out a product and review it for you just let me know in the comments below or message me on Facebook. Have a brilliant weekend Chat soon Susie xxx All your little summer dresses are packed away and you've pulled out your woolly jumpers. Yep its that time of year again and Autumn is a critical time to both repair the damage summer has caused to your skin & hair plus prepare for winter’s dry and harsher conditions. The chilly air can really dry out your hair & skin so its time to update your routine. So here are my top Autumn Hair & Skincare Tips 1. Cleansers - I love to use an oil based cleanser to help nourish the skin as well as melt away your makeup. There are loads of Hot Cloth Cleansers and balm's on the market at the moment and I use them with either a facecloth or a muslin cloth. This helps gently exfoliate the skin aswell as cleansing the skin. Some of my favourite include Soap & Glory Hot Cloth Cleanser, No 7 Beautiful Skin Hot Cloth Cleanser and Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. 2. Water - Drink plenty of fluids...and no I don't mean alcohol. Try and increase your intake of water and herbal teas. This will stop your skin from dehydrating which can be caused by central heating and harsh weather. Peppermint tea with a slice of ginger & lemon is a great way to start the day and Choco tea ("ginger and cinnamon delicately mingle with the unmistakable essence of cocoa; warming body and spirit") is a favourite of mine on those cold dark evening. Oh and if your workplace has central heating try leaving a bowl of water beside the radiators to keep the air hydrated around you. 3. Exfoliate - Use an oil based body scrub in your shower routine at least once a week. The summer sun & chlorine may have left your skin feeling dry and flaky so start this season off with a full-body exfoliation session. Not only will you feel fresh but your skin will be free from all those old dry dead cells. Dry brushing is another way to exfoliate skin. It helps remove dead cells and improving circulation. 4. Moisturise - Its time to change from your light summer lotion to a richer cream. As the air becomes drier, your skin needs a thicker moisturiser. Creams provide a stronger oily barrier, which means they both reduce water loss from the outer layer of skin and provide hydration to this layer of skin at the same time. I love the Aveeno range or if you don't have the time to mositurise everyday then check out my last blog about Vaseline Spray & Go. 5. Sunscreen - Don't ditch the sunscreen just because summer is over. Use a moisturiser with an SPF 15 (minimum) or just apply a facial SPF before you moisturiser. This will protect your skin from the elements. Some of my favourites are Clarins UV Plus Protective Day SPF 40 and Clinique Super City Block SPF 40 which has a beautiful sheer weightless formula. You can wear it alone or as a makeup primer. 6. Hands, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, Knees and Toes!!!! - Well hands really. Firstly buy yourself a good pair of gloves (and try not to lose them). These will protect your hands from the harsh cold weather. Secondly make yourself a hand scrub with coconut oil* or almond oil and sugar (brown or white). Simply mix together and then apply to your hands. Rub your hands together briskly for a few mins then just rinse off the sugar residue with warm water. Massage any remaining oil into your cuticles. This is a great little D.I.Y scrub and can be used all over the body. Make a big batch and store it in your bathroom in an old jam jar - just give it a little mix before its next use. Invest in a good handcream (& a cuticle oil if the budget allows) and apply it as often as required especially last thing at night. You can also pop on a pair of cotton gloves and leave them on over night. I promise you will wake up with super soft hands. *(Coconut Oil comes in a solid form and can be found in the cooking oil section of the supermarket. Not only is it an amazing oil to cook with - (its way better than sunflower/Olive oil) you can also use it as a hair mask (it liquefies in your hand) just apply to you hair (whilst cooking if you want - spoonful for the frying pan, spoonful for your hair), you can also use it to make up this scrub and it can help with weight loss. I KNOW super stuff. Just google it ) 7. Kissable Lips - Your lips will dry out big time in winter and the first tip is DON'T LICK THEM because this makes them worse. I done a blog on Lush lip scrubs and balms already but you can use the sugar scrub from tip No. 6 if you would so prefer (Its the exact same thing). Keep a lipbalm in your bag and apply it as often as required and keep a spare one beside the bed and apply it last thing at night. If your lips are very badly cracked and sore I think the best product on the market to use it the Blistex Relief Cream. Because it is a cream it sinks straight into the lips, is very soothing and relieves very dry cracked chapped lips. I generally use this at night so it gives my lips a chance to heal properly. And another little tip - if like me you suffer from coldsores (which can be caused by the cold, heat or being run down) then try a product called L-Lysine. I swear by these tablets. As soon as I feel the start of a coldsore I take 1000mg of these little miracle workers (amino acids) and BAM! my coldsore never even rears its ugly head. 8. Hair - From styling products, sunscreen, chlorine and sea water - Summer really does play havoc with our hair. Autumn is the perfect time to start afresh with your hair and the best way to begin is with a clarifying shampoo. (I like the Boots one and its easy on the pocket). Also get a haircut to trim away any damaged spilt ends. A good hair mask or hot oil treatment helps to restore moisture and elasticity to your sun dried locks. This is best done after clarifying the hair and will result in wonderfully soft & restored hair. Oh and another little tip - invest in a good hat & umbrella to prevent the dreaded frizz!!!!. So thats it! Eight hopefully helpful tips for you to help prepare for winter. Leave me a comment below if you have any questions or if you would prefer to ask me something on Facebook just click on the Facebook link at the top of the page. Thanks for reading Y'all :)
I am always on the look out for a new eye makeup remover and over the years I have tried my fair share of them. Mostly they are too oily or watery or sting my eyes and are just plain rubbish. My all time favourite has to be Lancome's Bi-Facils but it costs €28 approx and because of my love of smokey eyes and black liners I end up going through this stuff far too quickly. So as my hunt continues this is the lastest two products I have been trying out. Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for lids, lashes and lips (€20 approx from Clinique Stockists). This has being on the market for a number of years now and gets rave reviews all the time. It is a two-way makeup remover so you need to give it a little shake before use. I found this really brilliant. It melts away all my eye makeup even waterproof mascara without tugging or pulling and without causing irratation. You only need a small amount on cotton wool, hold it over your closed eye for a few seconds then wipe in a downwards motion and watch as it just sweeps away all your makeup. Because it does contain oil it can leave a little residue but nothing that a wet cotton pad cannot remove. Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (€5.50 approx for 125mls). This is a fairly new product to the Irish market (Well I have only spotted it recently anyway). It is an oil free gentle cleanser suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. This is one of the better eye makeup removers I have tried and yet is one of the cheapest. Again I just soaked a cotton pad with the product and used it to remove everything from basic eyeshadows to mascara. I did have to bust into the cotton pads a second time to remove my waterproof liner though. But it left no residue and my skin felt clean and refreshed afterwards. The Clinique Take The Day Off is a brilliant product which removes all eye makeup first time but at €20 for a bottle I will be keeping it for days when I wear my waterproof liners and mascaras. Otherwise I will be using the Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover for everyday use because it is so affordable and works great for basic daily makeup. Let me know comments below if you like it or what is your favorite makeup remover.
