I can't believe it is the last day of summer already... My summer was just hectic between weddings, festivals and parties but I enjoyed every bit of it. And because of all of the above my blog has suffered a little but as a wise person once told me..... "live life..don't just write about it" But I'm back and rearing to go... So here are a few of the things I have been loving throughout the month of August The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Butter €18.95 I have always loved the Body Shop Body Butter...they are a bit of a cult product and I bet most of you have had at least one in your lifetime. This is the Body Shop's latest collection and I bought the Body Butter and Solid Oil Lip Treatment in Galway whist out shopping with my sister. Body Butters are a little thicker and creamier than regular body moisturiser and this one just melts into the skin leaving it super soft all day without being heavy or greasy . And guys I cannot tell you how AMAZING this product smells...I have been walking around all month smelling my arm...People are givin' me very odd looks. It has a gorgeous rich nutty scent but it isn't too overpowering. AMAZING!!!!
Soap & Glory Hand Food €7.69 I am a bit fan of Soap & Glory products and this little bottle lives on my bedside locker. I'm not great for applying handcream throughout the day but I make sure to do it last thing at night before I go to sleep. The Soap & Glory Hand Food contains shea butter and macadamia oil so leaves you skin smooth and soft without feeling greasy. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioners €10.49 I have been using L'Oreal Elvive NutriGloss Shampoo & Conditioner forever and I just love it. It always leaves my hair soft & shiny perfect for what I want. However in the name of research I decided to invest in some new hair products. So as I was wandering around Boots I spotted these gorgeous blue bottles. Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner not only smell gorgeous but the argan oil penetrates the hair shaft and leaves hair glossy and strong. My only gripe is the bottle are hard to squeeze!! :( Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover €6.29 I love a good smokey eye so need a good eye makeup remover at the end of the day. I think the duo phase removers always work a little better and this one does a brilliant job of taking off heavy eye makeup. It removes even waterproof mascara without pulling or tugging at the eye. And its a steal at just over €6 So that's it for this month...

So I posted a picture of the Invisibobble Hair Tie last week on Facebook and got a massive response . There must be alot of people like me who hate being left with a "dent" in their hair after using an ordinary hair bobbin. No matter how many times you attempt to straighten it the dent NEVER comes out and you basically have to wear you hair up. So what is it and how does it work? Well these spiral rings promise to not to stretch, break, pull or cause split ends and claim to have a strong grip suitable for all hair types and the more important bit - "to leave no trace once removed from the hair". Because of the shape (like an old telephone wire) the ring places uneven pressure around the ponytail therefore leaving no obvious mark. So I tied my hair up at a medium height ponytail and left it in all day. I took it out before going to bed and there was not kink...And because it was a really warm night I decided to put my hair in a low poinytail for the night Result the following morning...NO DENT OR KINK It actually worked. They are €4.99 for 3 bobbins which may seem a little expensive but I think they are a Godsend!!!! The only downside it that I love wearing my hair up in a high ponytail and I don't know if it's just because I have very thick hair but I was unable to get good height or hold on that. They are perfect though for a medium or low ponytail and hold the hair securely throughout the day. You can buy them in pharmacies nationwide or on Feel Unique (http://www.feelunique.com/brands/invisibobble). So who will be investing in InvisiBobbles?

Susie xxx I'm just back for our second #itwbn meet up so I said I'd share a few photos with you this wonderful Sunday evening. It was great to see some old faces from our last meetup but even better to meet loads of new bloggers that have joined our group The event was once again organised by the fabulous Sinead from Yummy Mummy Lifestyle & Fashion (http://www.yummymummy.eu.com) and her brilliant sidekick Saibh Egan (http://www.saibhegan.com). We met up in the Gaslight Brasserie @ Hotel Meyrick which was just gorgeous and were treated to fruity cocktails on arrival - perfect for quenching the thirst after the drive to Galway. It was great meeting up with some familiar faces.... And even better meeting with some of the newest recruits We had the guys from iNailz (http://www.inailz.ie) down to show us their amazing new way of printing patterns and designs on nails. You can get anything you want printed on either your own nail or a set of fake nails...and I mean anything!!!!! Honestly go check out their website..It's brilliant We were treated to some yummy treats.... And I was thrilled to win a beautiful necklace which was sponsored by Karmisa (http://www.karmisa.com) And of course it wouldn't be a meet up without a goodie bag which was kindly sponsored by McSharry's Pharmacy group (http://www.mcsharryspharmacy.com). So thats it... another great fun evening with a bunch of people who don't think I'm totally mad for needing 156 lipsticks and don't shout at me for checking my phone 24/7. I can't wait for our next event so hurry up Sinead and start organising it asap!!!!!! If there are any other bloggers out there who would like to join our group just look us up on Facebook for more details.
Until next time... As always... Be Happy!!! Susie xxx Firstly apologies about the lack of blogging lately but life has been hectic. I am chairperson of our local 5 day festival, The Rose of Castlerea and it takes a huge amount of time to organise. This was my first year in charge so I really put my heart and soul into planning and I am delighted to say it was a huge success. Anyway on to my summer skincare routine. We have been blessed with lovely weather lately so the "pins" have been out on show more than usual. And because I am sooooo pale I have to tan regularly otherwise people would think I was ghost!!!!! So to keep my skin in tiptop condition for tanning I have been using the following products. Elemis Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow - €46 I am a massive fan of Elemis products and anytime I treat myself to a spa day I try to ensure I go to an Elemis Spa (My favouite Spa is the Ciuin Spa @ The Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan - "Heaven"). However I don't get to go too often so I love the Elemis spa@home range of products. I recently got my hands on the Frangipani Monoi Salt Glow Body Scrub. This scrub is like a holiday in a jar. This scrub works by using mineral rich salts and frangipani particles which melt into the skin and buff away your dead skin cells. It exfoliates, removes any traces of old tan and leaves the skin cleansed & brightened. The Monoi & Coconut oils seals in moisture leaving your skin with an amazing delicate fragrance which lasts for hours. It is such a lovely product and I really do think that it leaves my skin silky smooth, soft to the touch and glowing. I know it is a little on the expensive side but it's my little bit of luxury at home. Eucerin Intensive Lotion 10% Urea - €12 I still suffer from Keatosis Pilaris otherwise known as those annoying little red bumps on the backs of your arms and thighs. I love the Eucerin Intensive Lotion 10% Urea. It is meant for people with very dry skin but it is also brilliant at helping get rid of KP. The urea acts as a chemical exfoliator working from underneath the skin. It isn't by any means a luxury cream, it doesn't have a smell and it can leave the skin quite tacky but it REALLY does work to smooth out your skin. I apply it at night before bed and simply hop into the shower the following morning to wash off any residue. After only a few uses you can really see the difference. It is also brilliant at helping fake tan fade evenly. Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan - €7.99 I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you about this next product. It has taken the tanning world by storm and rightly so. I am not hugely into tanning but in summer I have to do something to remove the "blue tinge" from my milk bottle white skin!!! And Cocoa Brown gives the perfect golden glow without a trace of orange in sight. It is a mousse which makes it super easy to apply, looks really natural and dries quickly without any stickiness. You can get a light glow after just one hour or leave it on for longer for a deep bronze colour. Oh and I think my favourite part is that once it does start to fade it scrubs off easily and evenly. Garnier Oil Beauty Nourishing Lotion - € So my skin is exfoliated inside and out and has a beautiful bronze glow from my Cocoa Brown tan. To finish off I use the Garnier Oil Beauty Nourishing Lotion. The first thing I love about this Garnier product is the pump...It makes life so much easier when you can simply pump the lotion onto your hands instead of having to squeeze a bottle with sticky hands. And one pump will cover about one limb... The second thing I love about it is the smell...It contains Argan, Macadamia, Almond and Rose Oil and leaves a beautiful light summery fragrance on your skin throughout the day. I actually don't wear perfume on the morning's I apply this. Overall this moisturiser absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky greasy feeling on the skin, it works great on dry skin and leaves your skin looking glowing and radiant. A perfect finish to my skin care routine. And that's it...It's quite a lazy routine but works perfectly for me.
I have loads of new additions to my makeup bag so stay tuned for loads of product reviews coming soon. Until next time...as always...Be Happy!!! Susie xxx |
