Obviously as the season's change so should your makeup. So here is a few of my favorite things for summer. For lips I love bright colours. I have two favourite go to products. Firstly is the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons. I love these glossy pencils as they glide on really smoothly and are incredibly pigmented. My two favourite shades are Fuchsia Libre which is a bright pink and Peach on the Beach which is a beautiful pinky/peach that is just perfect for summer. They have SPF 15 and have a beautiful glossy lightweight finish. They are availble in six shades from pharmacies nationwide and cost €9.49 My other favourite lippy product for summer is Revlon Lip Butter. They look like a lipstick but feel like a balm and contain mango, Shea and Coconut butter - all the good stuff for hydrating your lips. On the lip they feel light and moisturising and are available in a huge amount of shades. I have three favourites. Macaroon is a neutral mid dark pink shade that would suit every skin tone. Peach Parfait is a beautiful peach shade with a little glitter. And Strawberry Shortcake is a cotton candy pink. It just screams sunshine. They are available nationwide and retail approx €10 I have mentioned this blush before in a previous blog but I had forgot all about it until I done a recent clean out. This is a lovely Rose Gold blush. It has a very light shimmer going through it and gives you a beautiful pinky/bronze finish. Beautiful!!! I have two go to foundations for summer. My old reliable is Bourjois Happy Light Foundation. Again I have blogged about this before. It just leaves you with beautiful dewy skin. MAC Face & Body is a cult product with a lot of makeup artists. However I could never get used to it as it is quite a watery product which made it difficult to work with and I always found it to be very light coverage. But after trying it again recently I have fallen in love with it. As the name suggests you can use it all over the face & body as it is waterproof and has great staying power. You need to buff it well into the skin and you can build up the coverage from sheer to medium. It feels lightweight on the skin and leaves you with a beautiful dewy finish. It is perfect for normal to dry skin. I have had the original Urban Decay Naked palette in my kit for over a year now and it still remains one of my favourite shadow palettes. This contains a brilliant selection of warm neutrals that will bring you from day wear right through to night. The two matte shades Buck & Naked are perfect for blending into your crease, Virgin is a beautiful highlight shade and they rest of the colours can be mixed to use in what ever way you want. I think it is approx €42 and I promise if you buy any one of the 3 different Naked palettes you won't be disappointed. Clinique Chubby Stick Tint for eyes is another rediscovery for me. I bought this ages ago but never got around to using it. I have the shade Pink & Plenty which is a beautiful rose gold shade and can but used on its own for a soft wash of colour over the eye or as a base for powder eyeshadows. This is new to me also. I have always just filled in my brows with a matte brown shadow but this is a handy product to have when you're in a hurry. Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara is available in 3 shades Blonde, Medium Brown & Dark Brown. They all look natural and add great definition to your brows. It is available nationwide for €7.49 This is an old favourite but I still love it. L'Oreal mascaras are great and this has a beautiful curved brush with gives great curl and volume to your lashes. I love this new product from Rimmel. I have tried the light shade and loved it so was dying to try the medium colour. This instant tan promises to smooth, soften, moisturise, even skin tone, create a healthy glow, cover, perfect and last up to 24 hours. It is kind of like apply foundation to your legs and leaves a flattering velvet finish with a slight glow on the skin. It also makes the skin look lovely and even. And that's it....my staples for summer.
Hope you enjoyed the read Until next time...Be Happy!!! Susie xxx

So if you are a regular reader of my blog and Facebook page you know I finally got my hands on some Wet n Wild products. I have always heard great things about their shadows and lip products and not so much about their foundations. So when I found myself in Dunnes Stores Athlone on Saturday I decided to get their Coverall Cream Foundation and give it a try. And at only €4.99 it wasn't going to break the bank. So after trying it for a few days here's what I thought. Firstly this is a medium coverage foundation. It will cover most blemishes and dark circles which I really liked. The bottle has a large nozzle so be careful when squeezing out the foundation as you only need a small amount. It had a beautiful creamy texture which was easy blend in to the face. I used a Real Techniques buffing brush which was perfect for the job. I did have to use a little concealer around my eyes and on a pretty large spot but otherwise it done a great job giving me a beautiful clear complexion. As the day wore on I thought my skin looked a little dehydrated. The foundation had settled in my frown lines and my laughter lines around my mouth (see how I don't say wrinkles!!!) but this is nothing that a quick buff with my makeup brush couldn't sort out. As you can see from below I took a photo at 8.30 am and one at 8.30pm to show you how well the makeup had lasted. It lasted perfectly throughout the day aside my the little blending from my laughter lines. I will say though if you have dry skin I don't think this foundation will do you any favours and because it sits in any lines and pores it would be more suitable for younger skin. It really is perfect for teenagers and ladies in their 20's as it covers brilliantly and lasts all day. You get 30mls for €4.99 and Wet n Wild is available from selected Dunnes Stores & pharmacies nationwide. As always...Until Next Time...Be Happy!!!

As always.... Be Happy Susiexxx Wet ' n' Wild is the latest cosmetic brand to arrive on our lovely shores from the US of A. I know the name is just terrible but the products themselves are great. And they are all available for under €7 so you are free to experiment with colours and trends without breaking the bank. I have previously tried their Megalast Nail Polish which applied beautifully and lasted well without chipping for nearly a week. Also the blush has great pigmentation and is long wearing. But today I am going to review their eye shadow palette and illuminating powder. Walking on Eggshells is the perfect everyday neutral trio . Each shade is conveniently labelled so even beginners can apply them like a pro. The browbone shade is a beautiful satin shimmery nude colour. It can be applied as a highlight just under the brow and on the inner corner to really open up your eyes. It is a perfect dupe for MAC's Shroom or Urban Decay's Virgin eyeshadows. The eyelid shade is a warm peachy nude colour. It applies beautifully and blends out easily. It is a dupe for MAC's Naked Lunch or Urban Decay's Sin eyeshdow. And lastly Crease. This is a muted golden brown that can be applied lightly or built up to a beautiful dark golden shade. I think it is very like MAC Cork or Urban Decay's Smog eyeshadow. All three shadows provide great colour payoff, blend easily and have great staying power. All for only €3.49. BARGAIN!!! Comfort zone has 8 eyeshadows for only €6.49. Again each one is labelled starting with browbone, then eyelid, crease and finally definer. All the colours in this palette are super soft and well pigmented. Starting on the left hand side! The Browbone shade is a beautiful peachy gold with a light shimmer. The Eyelid shade is a pinky beige/golden shade. A perfect eyelid shade. The Crease shade is warm antique golden shade and finally the Definer is a dark redish brown. I like to use it with an angled brush as a soft liner along my lash line. So over to the right side. The Browbone shadow is a beautiful golden beige with a slight pink undertone. I think this is my favourite shade from the whole palette. The Eyelid shade is golden olive green. Next the Crease shade is a very dark mocha shade. It looks slightly black but on the eye is is definitely brown. And finally the Definer shade is mmmhhh how best to describe this. It is a duo chrome shadow and at first glance I immediately thought of MAC Club. The base is a reddish/brown with a green pearl finish. However when I swatched Club it was more muted compared to the Wet 'n' Wild shadow. So that is Comfort Zone!!! And finally the Mega Glow Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink. When swirled together this gives a beautiful rose gold toned blush that can be used as a highlighter on your cheekbones, along your collarbone or anywhere you would like a subtle shimmer. Be warned it is quite shimmery (not glittery though) so if your not a fan of shimmer this isn't the product for you. But overall I liked it. I will use it in summer as a highlight for the tops of my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and anywhere else I want to highlight. And that's it. The Wet n Wild range is available from selected Dunnes Stores, Penny's and pharmacies nationwide. Have any of you tried anything from the Wet 'n' Wild Range? Until next time...As always...Be Happy!!!
Susie xxx I am super excited about this new product from Rimmel. It is the Sunshimmer Instant Tan BB Perfector. This instant tan will leave your skin with a beautiful golden glow, evens skin tone, hides any bruises or blemishes, moisturises and perfects. But does it work? I bought this on impulse as I was going out for the night. I had planned on using the Cocoa Brown Lovely Legs Spray (it is pretty much the same as Sally Hansen Spray Tan) but in the interest of research decided to give this a go. I chose the Light Shade which gives a natural sunkissed look. (There is also a medium shade which promises a healthy bronze glow.) It is really easy to apply and blended seamlessly onto my skin. It literally took only a few minutes and I was left with a beautiful golden even tan. I sometimes think the Sally Hansen can look quite orange on my skin and you really have to buff it well into the skin to get a even coverage. There was no such problems with the Sunshimmer BB cream though. It lasted all night even in the rain and washed off easily in the shower the following morning. This is now my favourite instant tan and I will be definitely using it all summer. It is available in pharmacies nationwide for €8.95 What is your favourite tan?
Let me know in the comments below! Until next time.....Be Happy! Susie xxx This was the hardest part of packing for me!!! I love makeup and very rarely use the same product two days in a row so as you can imagine I really struggled to pack a for holidays. But I was delighted with myself. I managed to fit everything including all my brushes into this little makeup bag. And here's what I brought Brushes: I know I could have just used my fingers for base/concealer etc but I just love using brushes to apply my makeup. I brought my E.L.F stippling foundation brush, Real Techniques blush brush (which I used for powder & bronzer), MAC 168 for blush & contouring, Real Techniques Dome Shadow Brush for concealer, 2x MAC 217 Blending brushes, Mint tapered blending brush, MAC 239 flat brush, and a angled eyeliner brush. For my foundation/base I kept things very simple as I hate heavy makeup on holidays. I used the Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream which I received in the March PowderPocket box and I fell in love straight away. It gives great coverage for a BB cream, adapts to your own skin tone and leaves you with beautiful dewy glowing skin (without looking oily). I will definitely be purchasing a bottle of this. I then brought my two favourite concealers - Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for any blemishes/spots and Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for under my eyes. Both concealers give great coverage and last great in hot weather. And to hold everything in place I used Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent. This really is a must have for every makeup bag. To add a bit of colour back into my skin I used the Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer. This is a two toned bronzer and is great for contouring and dusting on the high points of your face to give that beautiful bronze look . For Blush I couldn't decide so I brought three - MAC Style (this is a beautiful coral peach with a golden pearl), MAC Warm Soul (Bronze/Peach with gold pearl - this gives the most beautiful sun kissed glow to your skin) and TopShop cream blush in Let Her Go. I always start my eye makeup with a primer and my favourite is the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. This is a nude cream to powder base that just holds everything in place even in warm weather or sweaty clubs. I brought my Naked palette (sorry it actually looks very scruffy in the picture but that is just because it is very much loved). It has a great range of colours, all perfect for day and nightwear. My favourite mascara at the moment is Max Factor Clump Defy and I used the Maybelline Master Sleep Brow Mascara in Light Brown to hold my brows in shape. To finish off I brought three eyeliners, Topshop Waterproof Liner in Ebony, Catrice Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Black and a really old Revlon liner in a nude/pinky shade. I just love lip products so brought a selection of glosses and lipsticks with me. From l to r MAC Lipgloss in Partial To Pink, Tanya Burr in Just Peachy, L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Rose Melody, Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Bashful and MAC Cremesheen in Coral Bliss. And that's it. Nice and compact. A handy little tip and something I always do when going on holidays is to get your eyelashes and eyebrows tinted. This will really open up your eyes and you don't have to worry about mascara running down your face whilst you are in and out of the pool. I hope you enjoyed my little travel blogs.
