Spring is just around the corner (that's if we aren't all washed away by this weather before then). Here are some of the gorgeous Spring/Summer makeup trends that have been seen all over the catwalks. I will try and post pictures of the more "wearable" ones. Berry LipsMichael Kors used the colour Dame from his own range to create a beautiful berry lip (photo on the left). You will be able to recreate the look with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains and Bourjois Shine lipsticks. EyelinerIts all about the cat eye this Spring/Summer. So wither you like to use a gel, liquid or pencil you better start to practice. Makeup artist Mally Roncal said that a thin cotton swab dipped in makeup remover is the key to getting a neat clean line. I love the L'Oreal Super Liner and the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner with an angled brush. Electric BlueNo the 80's aren't back...Blue is back though and VERY trendy. You will be looking for an electric blue shadow or liner. Bourjois are ususally bang on trend with their liners and Maybelline have a gorgeous cream shadow which you can use as a base or an all over shadow (Eye Studio Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tenacious Teal). Bright Orange LipstickDon't be afraid of this trend. It was massive on the catwalks with designers such as Donna Karan, DKNY, Christian Siriano and Rag & Bone all opting for various hues of the orange family. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick In Love With Ginger is just gorgeous and Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivids in Mandarin and Electric Orange all fit the bill. To get a hint of colour just dab on with your finger and buff into your lip. You get a toned down version of the colour and a beautiful matte longlasting finish. Glowing SkinGlowing nude skin just looks beautiful in Spring. You can achieve this look in a few different ways - 1. Use a tinted moisturiser - I love the Laura Mercier primer in Radiance followed by the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. 2: Using a moisturiser and illuminator. Revlon Skinlights is gorgeous applied to the cheek bones, temples and bridge of nose with a damp sponge. 3: Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream gives a beautiful glow to the skin and they also have a bronzing primer which I use as for contouring the skin (the Bourjois Bronzing Primer is a dupe for Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel). Both leave your skin with a beautiful sunkissed look. If you suffer from oily skin and feel you need to use a powder only apply it to the areas that really need it. So thats it...Everything is very wearable so just play around with colours until you are comfortable.

So I popped into Brown Thomas lately as I had a few things on my wish list. Top of the list was Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I had got a sample of this and I really loved it. (If you ask at at Estee Lauder counter they will colour match you and give you a sample to try at home before you buy). Whilst I was at the Estee Lauder counter I managed to get talked into buying the Double Wear Stay In Place High Cover Concealer. It has a lightweight texture and a concentrated formula that promises excellent coverage and twelve whooping hours of wear I was excited to say the least. The oil-free formula minimizes the looks of fine lines and wrinkles and is powerful enough to hide imperfections, blemishes, spots, scarring, and more. I will let you know how I get on with it after I have used it a couple of times. I have being dying to get the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser for ages. Most people like to wear a tinted moisturiser in summer because of its light texture but I think they are great for winter also because they are designed to give a hint of colour and even out the skintone whilst keeping the skin hydrated. It leaves your skin feeling comfortable all day and even in cold weather it won't crack or emphasise any dry flaky patches. These cost €48 but contain 50mls of product and a tiny bit really goes a long way and if you need any extra coverage just use a concealer on those areas. I also picked up the Laura Mercier foundation primer in Radiance. I got a sample of this recently and fell in love with it. It has a slight golden peach glow but doesn't colour the skin or cause a shimmer . It is suitable for all skin types and gives a great airbrushed effect to the skin. I stopped by Benefit because I was out of my Dandelion Brightening Face Powder (€34). This powder is a beautiful cool pink with a golden shimmer and I use it more as a highlighter on the face. I also picked up the new Rockateur blush. This is a beautiful neutral Rosy Gold with shimmer. It is one fo the softest and smoothest blushes in the Box O' lines and almost feels creamy to apply. It leaves the skin with a lovely glow and I can't wait to try it out. I wanted to get a new Autumnal shade for my eyeshadow palette. I was recommended Sketch by my good friend Anna. This is a dark burgundy brown with a velvet finish. It can be applied sheer for a lovely wash of warm burgundy or build it up over the lid for an intense deep smokey eye. I love it already. All that glitters is a great shimmery golden beige. It it so flexible and I have yet to find another shadow that it doesn't go with. It blends well or just use it all over the eye with some liner for a beautiful simple look. And thats it...Most of these were on my wish list for a while so I was very excited to get them. Rihanna's final collaboration with MAC will be launced just in time for Christmas. Woohooo!!!! It will see the return of RiRi Woo (matte red) along with two new Lipsticks - Pleasure Bomb and Bad Girl RiRi. (€20.50) I especially love the eye shadow palettes in two combinations — 2XDare and Phresh Out. The colour combinations are amazing! (€44). And also in the collection is a double ended 217 Blending Brush and the 239 Shader Brush (€36) The collection also features a nail polish in RiRi Woo (€14.50), Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in two shades — Cockiness and Pieces Persuation (€23), Bronzing Powder in Love, Rihanna (€29.50) and a beautiful Rose Gold qulited makeup bag (€35) which is just big enough to hold all your new goodies. This limited-edition collection is encased in exclusive white-pearl packaging with RiRi’s rose-gold detailing and will be available on counters from the start of December at Brown Thomas and BT2 stores nationwide. It would make a perfect gift for any Rihanna or MAC fan.
So which item is tempting you the most? So I have been doing a bit of shopping this week and I thought I would show you what I bought. If you would like a full review on any of the products just let me know in the comment section below. The first item I got was this gorgeous candle and its actually from Pennys and cost €4. There are three fragrances available (I got Powder Room). I love the tins they come it and I think they look really good . The fragrance doesn't really last too long but they still look really pretty. I have heard great things about this Benefit Erase Paste and as I suffer from really bad dark under eye circles I have being dying to get my hands on it. It comes in 3 colours shades, Fair, Medium and Dark and costs €27.50 approx. It is available from Benefit Counters nationwide. Next is my favourite hair brush. Its the Denman D3 Medium styling brush with 7 rows of nylon pins. It has an anti-static rubber pad that provides maxium grip and control during blow-drying. I have being using this for years and it never breaks or pulls my hair. They are about €10 available from pharmacies nationwide. So I popped into MAC...and bought 3 new lipsticks as I am building up my kit. I got the colour of the summer which is this gorgeous neon matte pink (MAC Candy Yum Yum). Then I got this beautiful spiked up Plum (MAC Odyssey) and frosted light coral (MAC Coral Bliss). Can't wait to try them all. (Swatches Below). Available from MAC counters €18. I am really loving these new Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss at the moment. They are a silky gloss that boosts hydration and plumps lips with a beautiful glamorous shine. I got 3..Kiss me coral (not shown), Super Natural and Berry Allure. They also have an SPF 15..Very handy in this gorgeous weather And last but not least since it is sandal season I decided to invest in some new nail polish colours for the summer. I really love the Barry M polishes and especially the new Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint. I got Prickly Pear and Papaya. Prickly Pear is a pale lilac colour and Papaya as the name suggests is a peach/coral shade. Its bright without been neon which I love. You can pick them up in pharmacies nationwide for €5/6 approx.
